PDW-700 XDCAM HD launches at IBC

The long awaited XDCAM HD 2/3" model was launched at IBC this week. The camera, which is due to be available to buy early 2008, is looking set to be the best incarnation of XDCAM yet.

Using newly developed 2/3" Power HAD FX CCD's the camera can record to all previous XDCAM formats, including DVCAM and IMX, as well as existing XDCAM HD formats alongside it's own 50Mbit/sec 1920x1080 format.
